Bobby Thandi - Creator of Fly Guys
Bobby has a bold vision - he wants his daughter to grow up in a world free from prejudice. To do his part in making this vision become a reality he has created a book aimed at young children called ‘Fly Guys: Monday Madness’. The book helps parents and children to think about difference, diversity and friendship. The book was inspired by conversations with his daughter Avani who was aged 3 at the time.
When he’s not working on Fly Guys, Bobby is VP Digital at Dubit. They create iOS, Android and browser games for kids. Clients include DreamWorks, Nickelodeon, Disney, PBS KIDS and Cartoon Network.
Phil Ball - Producer
Phil Ball is a proud, yet tired Dad of three, who has finally found time to realise his dream of publishing his own kids story. Fly Guys was a seed sown back at film school -- it's only taken 20 yrs for that seed to grow! The catalyst for its growth was after a random discussion with his good friend Bobby, who said he and his daughter had come up with a story for two characters, a little girl and a fly who want to fly to space — Phil too had randomly written a short story about a Fly all those years ago…. so it was meant to happen!
Phil's 'other' job is in the feature film world, where he wears various hats, sometimes literally, in-front of & behind camera.
Emma Leverton - Author
Emma Leverton was chosen by Bobby and Phil from over 70 writers who wanted to write the Fly Guys books. Working closely with the entire team Emma has translated the story treatment into writing. Emma has a keen interest in different cultures, lifestyles and religions and believes that education is key to promote equality and diversity.
When she's not writing Fly Guys, Emma works on a number of personal and freelance projects - this includes writing for The Huffington Post. In her spare time, Emma is also studying for a Masters Degree in Religion and Public Life. You can see more of what she gets up to here.
